Turn a photo into an editable Word document
The text is read from the picture, then rebuilt as real Word content.
Up to 50 MB · Images only · Your file is deleted 7 days after upload.
Free conversions run on a limited daily allowance, and a large scan can use all of it. For larger files, see pricing.
More than a conversion
The same document can be summarized, split into tables, or turned into a deck — all in the studio, by asking in chat.
Pull the key points and action items out of a long report, so the conclusion can be shared without sending the whole file.
Move tables into a spreadsheet you can filter and chart. Numbers arrive as numbers, not as an image of a table.
Turn the same document into a deck — one idea per slide, in a real .pptx that opens in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Fix a heading that came out wrong, or a table that shifted, by describing the change. The document is updated in place.
How it works
A photo has no text inside it — the words and the layout are read from the picture, then built again.
Frequently asked questions
What do I actually get back?
An image is only pixels: it shows what the letters look like, not what they say. This tool reads them, then rebuilds the text as a Word document — real paragraphs, headings, and tables you can edit.
Which images read best?
- Screenshots and exports from other apps, which are already sharp and straight.
- Photos taken from directly above, with even light and no shadow across the page.
- Printed pages with clear headings and ruled tables.
- Handwriting, which is read unreliably — expect mistakes or missing words.
When will the result not be perfect?
Reading text from a picture is a reconstruction, so a blurred, angled, or low-contrast image will come back with mistakes. Merged table cells, multi-column layouts, and small print are the first things to slip. Check any numbers before you rely on them.
Is it free?
Yes. This page converts without an account. It runs on a limited free allowance that resets every day, and each conversion uses part of it — a large scan uses more than a small screenshot. Your file is deleted 7 days after upload, and upgrading does not extend that. If you want to keep the result in an account, edit it further, or work across several files at once, the studio is the place for that.
Can I convert several images at once?
Not on this page — one image per conversion. If you photographed a document page by page, the studio takes several files at once and can combine them into one document.
